Creating a wedding website is so fun and can be a useful tool that your guests will use for their wedding related questions. Save yourself some stress by answering your guests’ questions on the frequently asked questions page of your wedding website before they have the chance to ask. This post includes the best frequently asked questions for your wedding website with some politely written responses as well.
What is the dress code?
Let them know if the attire is cocktail, black tie, or formal.
Is it an open bar?
Who doesn’t love an open bar? Let them know with some cute sayings. “The drinks are on us, the hangover is on you”, or “we waited 425 days for this, drink accordingly”.
Do I get a plus one?
This is the question that everyone wants to know and is a little uncomfortable to address, so putting it on your wedding website makes it a tad bit easier. The short answer… “Our wedding is RSVP only, your invitation will indicate the number of guests”. Letting your guests know that you want your wedding to be intimate will make them feel special.
Are my children invited?
Some weddings are “adult only” and that is perfectly fine. You could also give your guests an option to bring their kids to the ceremony and keep your reception adult only.
Where can I park?
Let them know if there is onsite parking or valet, as well as the cost of parking or valeting.
What will the weather be like?
Consider the season of your wedding and what the temperature is typically like.
When do I have to RSVP?
Every bride stresses about getting RSVPs back in time. This is also a great spot to remind people of that date.
Are there wheelchair accessible options?
First find out from your venue what options they have, then include them here.
Is there a live stream option?
Some guests may have a very difficult time traveling but also don’t want to miss your big day. My grandmother wasn’t able to make it to our wedding, due to unforeseen circumstances and we were able to stream it for her for free! We used the website called Love Cast. The stream quality was great!
Will the ceremony, reception or cocktail hour be outside?
Let your guests know if anything will be outside so they can dress accordingly, whether that be packing a sweater, a change of shoes, or sunglasses. They’ll be happy you let them know ahead of time.
Will transportation be provided?
If your ceremony and reception are not in the same location this could be a concern for some of your guests. Let them know if you’ll be providing transportation for them or if they will need to make arrangements.
Are there room blocks for hotels?
If you’re reserving hotel room blocks, give them that information here and let them know the deadline to book.
Will there be meal options for those with dietary restrictions or food allergies?
Offering a vegetarian option for your guests is pretty standard but it’s impossible for you to know all of your guests allergies. You can let them know on the menu if your food options contain nuts or dairy.
What is the weekend itinerary like?
This can be tricky if you’re not inviting all of your guests to everything but if you’re including your guests in a welcome party, after party, or morning after brunch, give your guests the details in one place. You can post something like this on your wedding website, print it out and include it in your wedding welcome bags or email your guests a copy. Get your welcome letter and weekend itinerary HERE.
Who can I contact if I have any additional questions?
Designate someone such as your maid of honor perhaps to answer any questions your guests may have so they aren’t bothering you leading up to your wedding day.
